Help us fill the gap!
Thanks to everyone who joined us for our eleventh year collecting coins and cans for Dunedin's busiest foodbank. A sepcial thanks to all the businesses, schools, kindys, halls, students, families and individuals who donated to us in the Octagon on Thursday, 20 June 2019.
In winter time many Otago families and people experience a gap between what they can afford and what they need. Others are trying to pay off their bills and find there’s suddenly a gap where the food money should be. Some people find themselves in a gap between houses – trying to find affordable rent or a place to stay.
OCTACAN is here to fill the gap, and with your support we CAN help!
Didn't make it to the Octagon for OCTACAN? No worries, support us an online donation. $1 = 1 can.
You're also welcome to stop by the foodbank at 407 Moray place, next to First Church and drop off a donation. It's open 9-5 Monday to Friday. Phone: 03 477 7116.
Our Family Works’ foodbank is the busiest in Dunedin and during winter demand is always higher. The foodbank currently provides families with about 10,000 emergency food items each month, a figure that will increase as the weather gets colder.
I can, you can, we can, OCTACAN!
