Careworkers - Wanaka

  • Location: Wanaka - Central Otago

We are looking for experienced Careworkers to join our team in Wanaka.

If you are enthusiastic, have empathy for older people, keen and motivated to learn, one of these positions could be for you.

In these roles you would be supporting the lives of those living in resthome/hospital and dementia level residential care by providing high quality care to them.

The ideal applicant will have experience working with elderly. 

 

Position 1 – Elmslie House

You will be working 7 shifts per fortnight on a rotating roster.  Week 1 you will work Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.  Week 2 you will work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Your start time will be 11pm and you will finish at 7am the following morning.

 

Position 2 – Aspiring Care Centre

The Hawea unit supports 20 residents and you will be working on a rotating roster of 3 nights on and 5 nights off.  Your start time will be 11pm and you will finish at 7am the following morning.

 

Position 3 – Aspiring Care Centre

The Cardrona unit supports 20 residents and you will be working on a rotating roster of 5 days on and 3 days off.  Your start time will be 3pm and you will finish at 11pm.  This is a full time position.

 

Position 4- Aspiring Care Centre

We are opening a new unit at Aspiring Care Centre in October 2019.  This unit will support 12 residents at resthome/hospital level.

We are looking for additional caregivers to work in this brand new unit.  You will be working on a rotating roster and a shift rotation and hours of work will be discussed with applicants. 

 

There will be opportunity to cover other shifts when staff are on leave

 

Our Enliven Wanaka homes, are Elmslie which has 31 residents who are supported at hospital and rest home level of care, and Aspiring which has 40 residents who are supported at hospital, rest home and dementia level of care.  Aspiring is opening a new unit and kitchen in October 2019, which will cater to a further 12 residents.

Both are homes integral to the community and 8 Presbyterian Support Otago Enliven homes have 4 year certification. That is testament to the quality of our systems, processes, living and working environments – and especially our staff.

Presbyterian Support Otago is a major provider of health & social services to the people of Otago. We employ in excess of 700 and are supported by over 500 volunteers. We’re central to the communities in which we provide services and your role is central to all we do.
