Dr Edmond Fehoko

Edmond joined the PSO Board in October 2023.

He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Nutrition, Otago University and has a background in criminology, sociology, cultural studies, mental health and addiction, reproductive health and public health.

Edmond has extensive expertise in developing, designing, and evaluating Pacific and indigenous interventions to promote health and positive wellbeing.

His research includes conducting an exploratory study on Pacific males' perspectives on the strengths and harms of digital wellbeing, specifically around social media use and addiction, online gaming and pornography and Pacific experiences of infertility and assisted reproductive technologies.

Edmond has worked at the University of Auckland, AUT, Manukau Institute of Technology and was Pacific Academic Partner at the Pacific Development Office. He is a past recipient of the Prime Minister’s Pacific Youth Awards.

Edmond is married with one daughter, Nancy Pole-Fehoko and he enjoys kava-drinking with the Pacific community.
