Kai for Octacan 2026, annual foodbank appeal

Bring your cans or non-perishable food and toiletry items for the Familyworks Foodbank, Dunedin's busiest foodbank:

Date: 25 June 2026, 7.30am - 2pm
Location: The Lower Octagon, Dunedin

Octacan is Presbyterian Support Otago’s major winter food drive, supporting local people through the colder months.

This year, Octacan will be on Thursday 25 June 2026, between the shortest day and Matariki (the Māori New Year) – gathering kai for those needing support from our Familyworks Foodbank.

For many, reaching out is just the beginning. Our Familyworks team provides tailored support, including food parcels, social work, financial mentoring, housing assistance, and winter essentials – with more working families now turning to us for help.

Donations will be arranged into the Matariki star cluster, with each star representing a food group.

Get involved – donate online or collect cans and drop them at the Lower Octagon on the day.

Thank you!
