Communications & Marketing Volunteers
Would you like to have the opportunity to test your skills and have your work published and seen by thousands of people while you complete your studies in 2018?
Presbyterian Support Otago has a number of communications volunteer opportunities they are looking for students to get involved with. You’ll spend a few hours each week being involved with various work being done by our communications and marketing team.
As an organisation, we support families in need by delivering a range of programmes and activities for young and old and provide care for our older residents. Find out more about us at psotago.org.nz.
We’re looking for students who are willing to commit to being involved for a semester (minimum) and can quickly and confidently become part of our team.
There are many opportunities for you to get involved - interviewing people and writing news stories, video filming and editing, photography and graphic design.
We like to be pretty flexible, so are interested to know which of these areas you’d like experience in and will work together to agree an area of work that is just right for you.
Ideally you’ll have your own laptop and gear or software to use, giving you ultimate flexibility during your time on our team.
Spend a few hours a week helping us out in 2018 and you’ll soon be able to add a couple of lines on your CV that will really make you stand out from the rest.

Balclutha-based van driver
Holmdene, in Balclutha, is looking for a volunteer to drive residents on outings and to activities.
You'll need a full driver licence, to be confident in driving a van, to be comfortable assisting older people on and off the van (training will be provided), and to be confident in communicating with older people.
The role is for two - three hours a week.
As an integral part of the Balclutha community, Holmdene provides a friendly, active and supportive environment.

Sunday Superstars Sought
If you enjoy op-shopping, clothes, fabrics, presentation, sorting, and working with people you could be the person we're looking for!
Our three charity shops (Op Shop on St Andrew, Shop on Carroll, and Shop on Taieri) will be opening Sunday's and need committed volunteers to help make our customers shopping experience a delight.
Working Sunday's, we're looking for a few volunteers who love clothes, bric-a-brac, haberdashery, books, and shoes, to sort, clean, mend, and price the huge amount of donated goods we receive so they can be sold on to others who are as passionate as you!
Our shops are fast-paced, fun places, full of energy, and enthusiastic volunteers who make it a great place to be.

Drivers - Club Enliven, North East Valley
Do you have a car, driver licence and a little time to spare? You might like to help our Club Enliven members get to and from Club activities held at Ross Home, 360 North Road.
Social engagement and meaningful activity are essential to a healthy, happy life, no matter what your age. Club Enliven is for people over 65 years and offers a range of social activities including discussions, presentations from guest speakers, singing and music, craft, outings, cooking and meals. Many of our members are no longer able to drive and rely on volunteer drivers to assist them in getting to and from Club Enliven. Volunteers are needed between 9-10am and 3-4pm on Tuesday, Wednesdays or Fridays.
