Presbyterian Support Otago is proud to be the newest partner of Good Shepherd NZ in the Otago and South Canterbury regions.
Community Finance is a partnership between Good Shepherd NZ and Bank of New Zealand (BNZ), supported by the Ministry of Social Development and delivered by community provider partners like The Salvation Army and Aviva, and now Presbyterian Support Otago.
Good Shepherd NZ recognises that these partners are best placed to support the communities in which they operate as they understand the needs of their local clients and provide a comfortable environment in which to have a financial conversation.
Community Finance provides a fair and affordable borrowing option for those who are often forced to borrow from lenders who charge high interest rates and fees. It helps borrowers with the purchase of essential household items or higher cost assets that can provide economic freedom and improve quality of life.
Community Finance provide two loan products that have no fees or charges and are available to people on low incomes who are eligible for a Community Services Card.
No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) loans are available for amounts up to $1,500 for essential goods and services. StepUP, the low interest loan (6.99%)*, provides loans of up to $5,000 with up to three years to pay loans back.
