You don’t need a time machine to travel to the past, just pay a visit to Shop on Carroll for their Vintage Month.
Walk through the door, take a deep breath and pay attention. Enjoy listening to the music as it smoothly flows through your veins, see the items, outfits and décor, all pieces right out of history; and find yourself transported through time.
An incredible collection of items from before the 1950s is available to purchase during the month. Shop on Carroll is set-up so that everything is easy to find.
With colour coordinated dresses and groups of items resting together; awaiting the chance for a new adventure. One will find well-loved teddy bears, books of yesteryear, fur coats, hats, bright dresses and much more.
Everything in the shop has been donated, including a box made of porcupine quills, precious jewellery, some vintage fountain pens and fabulous vintage clothing.
Vintage Month 2018 began on Monday, 5 March. Within moments of the door being opened, the store was bustling with excited customers. Some are known to visit the shop on a weekly basis. Upon entering, one regular shopper was heard to exclaim “I wouldn’t miss this for the world!”
She later explained that, “the ladies at Shop on Carroll do a fantastic job. As good as anywhere I’ve seen; including London. There are reasonable prices and quite high qualities.”
Vintage Month Shop Manager, Fiona Dodds, said, “The month can happen thanks to our amazing donors. Everything in the shop has been donated. We put the call out and received a large response. It’s just fantastic.”
Vintage Month will run for the rest of month at Shop on Carroll.
The shop, at 10 Carroll St, is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday 10am – 5pm, Saturday to Sunday 10:30am – 3:30pm.
