Strengthening Families

Strengthening Families brings local support services together with families/whānau to ensure that they are receiving effective support.

Our Family Works social workers help families decide whether this approach is right for them, with the aim to offer support before serious problems require more intensive intervention.

Strengthening Families is run in a way that meets the unique needs of each family/whānau; building on their strengths and dreams, with support from health, social service, education and other services working together.

By promoting cooperation between community organisations, social services and government agencies, everyone involved works more effectively and efficiently with the families/whānau participating in the process. As a result they feel stronger, more connected to, and supported by their communities.
