Enliven HomeShare is a small personalised service where older people with memory loss enjoy a few hours as a guest in the house of their HomeShare host.
This service provides people with an opportunity to interact with others outside of their immediate environment; to chat, reminisce and build trust and friendship with their host, as well as offering respite for caregivers.
Free transport can be arranged to and from the host’s home, where guests are encouraged to plan what they want to do for the day, which might include lunch in the garden, working on a jigsaw puzzle together, or simply enjoying conversation over a game of cards.
HomeShare guests pay a daily fee, and there may be assistance available with funding. Hosts are fully trained and supported, contracted to provide a personalised service of companionship, shared activities, morning and afternoon tea, plus a hot home-cooked lunch.
