About Wanaka Retirement Village

Wanaka Retirement Village certainly ticks all the boxes when it comes to the type of village older people want to live in.

Described by residents as a ‘boutique’ Village, it’s a mix of apartments, cottages and villas, beautifully designed for Wanaka’s special climate, with easy access to all the town’s amenities, whether by foot, mobility scooter or car.  The fact Elmslie House Care Home is adjacent for continuum of care gives residents great peace of mind, too.

Each one of the 11 apartments, 14 villas and 3 cottages offer residents as much privacy and independence as they might wish for, yet collectively become a caring community providing support and encouragement to residents when needed.

Wanaka Retirement Village, owned and operated by Presbyterian Support Otago, has become known for its friendliness, stylish architecture and wonderful gardens.

The popular Pembroke Lounge, situated in the Apartment Block, is the hub of the Village catering for a wide range of events such as exercise and Tai Chi sessions, movie afternoons, games, quiz hours, Happy Hours and other such gatherings.  The sheltered, sunny Pembroke Courtyard is a favourite meeting place.

Because of its popularity, Wanaka Retirement Village operates a contact list of people wanting to live there. Those people are notified immediately a home becomes available, so few homes are offered on the open market.

If you want to be on that list please phone the Village Office on 03 443 4474 to make an appointment to view the Village.
