The old coal boiler at Iona Home in Oamaru has reached the end of its useful life. Iona needs to replace the boiler and is looking to a new economical heating system anchored by a wood pellet boiler. This new system will be better for the environment with lower carbon emissions (wood-heating systems save a lot of CO2). The system is designed to provide increased efficiency, independence and safety in heating.

Iona has been supporting the people of Oamaru and the wider Waitaki region for over 70 years, offering care for up to 79 residents, at rest home, hospital and secure dementia levels of care. We now need your help to ensure that we can continue to support the Oamaru community. The new boiler will make a huge difference to the future of Iona, it’s residents and the community. It will ensure sustainable heating for many years to come.
