Enliven volunteering

Some things make for healthier, happier living. Enliven volunteers help create a sense of community for older people engaging with Enliven services or living in Enliven homes, while providing practical support and social engagement.  


Residential Aged Care 

Volunteering at our care homes is such a vital role that adds value to the lives of residents. There are 9 homes across Otago, making them our most popular form of volunteering.


Where: Oamaru, Dunedin, Mosgiel, Balclutha, Alexandra and Wanaka. 
Commitment: Flexible. 1 - 2 hours per week, fortnight or month. 
When: Monday - Sunday, on a day that suits you.  
Roles include: Van outing drivers, van outing assistants, meals on wheels driver, activity assistants, music and movement helpers, gardening, companion visiting, happy hour assistants, help with indoor bowls, resident support, walking companion, piano player/entertainer and many more.

Club Enliven

Connecting older people in a friendly, fun, and enriching environment. Driving participants to and from their own home to the club or assisting at the club with club activities.

Where: Dunedin, Mosgiel, Alexandra.
Commitment: 1 - 4 hours per week, or month, commit to one or more shifts. 6 month commitment or longer. 
When: Between 9am and 4pm. Dunedin - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Mosgiel - Monday to Friday. Alexandra - Thursday. 

Volunteer vacancies include: drivers, activity assistants.

Visiting Volunteers

Volunteers provide regular, ongoing contact and good company for people living alone, often providing a link to the community for those who are confined to their home.

Where: Dunedin/Mosgiel area.
Commitment: 1 hour per week or fortnight.
When: Monday - Sunday at a time that suits you and the person you will visit.
