Gardener, South Dunedin

What:  Keen? Amateur? Budding ?  Gardener or Gardeners. Garden maintenance including weeding, pruning and tidying. Tools provided.
When: Flexible, 1 - 3 hours per week or fortnight. 
Where: Stepping Stones and Club Enliven, 156 Oxford Street, South Dunedin.


What would you do?

We are looking for a volunteer or two with an interest in gardening to keep the garden and area looking   cared for and inviting for our group members to enjoy. This role is available immediately, and we are taking expressions of interest now. This could be suitable for a friend or two to do together.

  • Gardeners of all abilities? , personal or hobby gardeners. 
  • Garden maintenance including weeding, pruning and tidying, with some help from our Stepping Stones team.
  •  is there a problem with this?  We do have lawn mower. Could it say lawn maintenance optional?.
  •  Interacting with and including our group members.
  • Tools and equipment provided.

 

Requirements

This role would suit someone who is:

  • Physically able to complete gardening tasks, crouch, twist, reach, pull.
  • Interested and has basic knowledge of gardening and identifying a weed from a plant.

You must be friendly, reliable, trustworthy and have good communication skills. 

Volunteers should have a natural interest in older people and those needing support in our community, have patience, a caring and respectful attitude and be happy working as part of a team.

We take great care in who our volunteers are. All of our volunteers need to complete a Police Check and provide references. All volunteers will receive appropriate training and supervision for their role and will be required to sign a Code of Conduct.

Time commitment

1-3 hours per week, or fortnight of month depending on growing season and your availability.
Monday through Sunday.

6 month or longer commitment.
