What would you do?

Shop on Carroll is a popular Op Shop with an online department that specialises in pre-loved and vintage clothing, homewares and accessories. The online department is looking for online retail assistants to work in a small, friendly, and passionate team. Online we aim to provide some of the flavour of our unique store while embracing the growing movement toward lowering waste and repurposing goods and fashion.   • Competent using a computer, internet, email and Microsoft. 
  • Sorting, and preparing items for sale online.
  • The ability to research items thoroughly and write a description. 
  • Assist with any customer enquiries.
  • Assist with the online sales process, creating listings and assist with posting of the items online.
  • Data entry and social media knowledge would be useful.
  • Preparing items for sale, packaging and preparing for postage or pick up.
  • Experience in online payment systems would be a bonus.
  • Volunteers with photography skills may have an opportunity to photograph items for the online shop.
  • Volunteers who feel comfortable modelling will have the opportunity to model items for the online shop.

Volunteer, and gain work experience while giving back to the community. Profits of the online sales go towards supporting the work our Family Works social workers do in the community. Volunteers will work within a small bubble of likeminded individuals; they have a lot of fun and get to research a lot of interesting items.

Requirements | Checks you can expect 

This role may involve standing, walking, bending, sitting, climbing stairs, simple grasping, fine manipulation, lifting, overhead reaching, carrying, pushing/pulling, twisting, climbing balancing, crouching, squatting and other reaching.

You must be friendly, reliable, trustworthy and have good communication skills. 

Volunteers should have a good computer skills, a respectful attitude, be happy working as part of a team and happy to help in other Shop on Carroll departments when needed.

All of our volunteers need to complete a Police Check and provide references. All volunteers will receive appropriate training and supervision for their role and will be required to sign a Code of Conduct.

Time commitment

From as little as 2 hours a week to 10 hours a week.

Monday - Friday on a day that suits you.

This role requires a volunteer that can make a commitment for at least 6 months.
