What: Van drivers take care home residents on weekly outings.

They are looking for volunteer van drivers to take staff and residents on outings around the Dunedin area. Residents stay in the van and like to park somewhere with a good view and have social chat.
St Andrews Home and Hospital offers rest home and hospital level care and a supportive community for residents, with friendly staff and freshly cooked meals creating a home-like atmosphere.
You must be friendly, reliable, trustworthy and have good communication skills.
Volunteers need to be physically capable of pushing wheelchairs and assisting particularly needed when taking residents on outings, assisting with getting on and off the van.
Volunteers must have a natural interest in older people, have patience, a caring and respectful attitude and be happy working as part of a team.
As you will be stepping into the 'Home' of elderly people we take great care in who our volunteers are. All of our volunteers need to complete a Police Check and provide references. All volunteers will receive appropriate training and supervision for their role and will be required to sign a Code of Conduct.
2 hours a week or fortnight.
Monday 2 - 4pm and or Wednesday 2 - 4pm.
Commitment of at least 6 Months is required
