What: 1:1 visiting, provide regular, ongoing contact and good company for people living alone or needing more social interaction.
When: 1 hour a week at a time that suits you and the person you will visit.

Enliven Visiting Volunteers visit older people in their homes for a chat over a cup of tea, to play a game of cards, help with shopping, or share an outing.
Our volunteers provide regular, ongoing contact and good company, often providing a link to the community for those who are confined to the home.
The Visiting Volunteers Coordinator will talk with clients about their interests and preferences to ensure the best possible match with a suitable volunteer.
Never underestimate the power of the volunteer hour. One hour of social engagement enriches the lives of older adults. Friendships and connections are important. Studies have found socially active seniors have higher satisfaction with life, are happier and have a lower risk of depression and anxiety.
You must be friendly, reliable, trustworthy and have good communication skills.
Volunteers should have a natural interest in older people, have patience, a caring and respectful attitude and be happy working as part of a team.
As you will be stepping into the home of elderly person we take great care in who our volunteers are. All of our volunteers need to complete a Police Check and provide references. All volunteers will receive appropriate training and supervision for their role and will be required to sign a Code of Conduct.
About 1 hour a week at a time that suits you and the person you will be visiting.
Volunteers that can commit for at least 6 months or longer are preferred.
