Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is proud to deliver Financial Mentoring across Otago, made possible through investment from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD).
This support reflects MSD’s confidence in the quality, integrity, and impact of our financial mentoring work. While this service receives government funding, many of PSO’s wider services and community programmes rely heavily on local generosity, grants, and donor support. We are deeply grateful for the community that helps sustain the wraparound care families need.
Financial Mentoring is a free and confidential service that helps people take charge of their money, understand their choices, address debt, and build confidence for the future.
What makes PSO’s service unique is its connection to our Family Works wraparound approach. Financial pressure rarely exists on its own, so our mentors work closely with social workers, counsellors, and our foodbank team to offer holistic, practical support that helps families strengthen their wellbeing and independence.
